Understanding milestones

Stay in control. Stay in sync.

Milestones are a powerful way to manage Hassle-Free Jobs on SkillScoop. They help you break your project into manageable parts, keep communication flowing, and ensure everyone’s on the same page — especially when it comes to progress and payments.

Whether it’s a quick task or a longer-term job, milestones give you structure, clarity, and peace of mind.

Where to find Milestones

If you’ve hired a specialist for a Hassle-Free Job, you’ll see a Milestones button on the Job Details Page. Click it to open the Milestones Page — your hub for tracking the job’s progress and managing payments.

What you can do on the Milestones page

Here’s a look at everything you’ll be able to view and manage:

Create and update Milestones
Break your job into stages and clearly outline what’s expected at each step. You can update milestone details as needed — just remember, your specialist will need to approve any changes.

View Recent Activities
Track a timeline of updates and milestone actions so you always know what’s been done and when.

Specialist Details & Communication
Easily access your specialist’s info and open the chat to message them if you need to clarify anything.

Payment Overview
See a full breakdown of:

  • Total job price
  • What’s currently in a secure account
  • What’s already been paid
  • What’s left to be paid

This keeps the payment process simple and transparent.

How Milestones Work

Set Initial Milestones
When starting a job, you’ll be asked to create the first set of milestones (or just one if you’re paying the full amount up front). These outline the work to be done and how payment will be released.

Specialist Accepts
Your specialist will need to review and accept these milestones before they begin the job. If anything looks off, they can reach out for changes.

Manage & Update as Needed
Need to adjust something later? You can edit existing milestones or add new ones. Your specialist will be notified and asked to accept any changes before moving forward.

Fund the Milestone
Before your specialist can begin work on a milestone, it needs to be funded. Once funded, the money is securely held in a secure account —r eady to be released once the work is complete.

Approve Work & Release Payment
When a milestone is completed, review the work. If everything looks good, click Release Payment to send funds from a secure account to your specialist.

Why Milestones Matter

Milestones help you:

  • Set clear expectations
  • Track progress without micromanaging
  • Communicate effectively
  • Only release payment when work is completed

It’s a better way to manage jobs — structured, flexible, and built for peace of mind.
